Srinagar, June 05: In a decisive victory, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has secured an absolute majority in the Lok Sabha elections, winning 292 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the single largest party with 240 seats, solidifying its dominant position in Indian politics.
Despite the NDA’s triumph, the Congress-led INDIA bloc has proven to be a formidable opposition, winning 234 seats.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who plays a crucial role in the government formation, has arrived in Delhi to attend a key NDA meeting later today.
This meeting will focus on strategies for forming the new government and preparing for the upcoming administration.
Sources suggest that the NDA is ready to formally claim the mandate to government. The swearing-in ceremony for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term is expected to take place on the evening of June 8 at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
During the same ceremony, the new cabinet members will also be sworn in, marking the official start of the new government.
