Narendra Modi Sworn in for Historic Third Term as Prime Minister

Srinagar, June 09: Narendra Modi took the oath as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term at a grand swearing-in ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday, June 9.
This significant event makes Modi the first three-term Prime Minister after Congress stalwart Jawaharlal Nehru.
Over 72 ministers were expected to join Modi in the new NDA government.
Decisions regarding the new cabinet were finalized during a meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence yesterday. Key figures from the outgoing government, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S. Jaishankar, who managed the home, defense, finance, and external affairs ministries respectively, will continue their roles. Other senior members such as Piyush Goyal, Dharmendra Pradhan, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Hardeep Singh Puri will also be part of the new administration.
The ceremony was attended by several distinguished international guests, underscoring India’s global diplomatic ties. Notable attendees included Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Bangladesh President Sheikh Hasina, Vice-President of Seychelles Ahmed Afif, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, and Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
