Srinagar, Sep 16 (KINS): The first phase of campaigning for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections comes to an end today, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) making a final push through vigorous canvassing in the Doda region.
The campaigning for the first phase covering 24 assembly constituencies across seven districts including the Chenab valley region of Jammu and south Kashmir districts ended on Monday evening.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and several other top BJP leaders have led an intensive campaign to rally support for their candidates across the eight constituencies where campaigning concludes today.
Prime Minister Modi addressed a major rally in Doda yesterday, appealing to voters across all eight constituencies. “Doda is a vital part of our vision for a progressive Jammu and Kashmir,” Modi said.
“Every vote in this region is a step towards peace, development, and a brighter future for our youth.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed three rallies including ones at Paddar-Nagseni, Kishtwar, and Ramban.
Shah focused on issues related to security and development, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the welfare of the region. “Our government has always prioritized the safety and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir,” Shah said in these election rallies.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has already made his mark in the campaign, addressing rallies at Ramban and Banihal. “We are dedicated to the region’s development and security,” Singh remarked during his speech. “The support from the people of Doda and neighboring areas strengthens our resolve to bring positive change.”
As per news agency KINS, the BJP’s campaign efforts have been further bolstered by Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr. Jitendra Singh, who represents Doda in the Lok Sabha. He, along with BJP general secretary and J&K Incharge Tarun Chugh, and former Union Minister Anurag Thakur, has been actively engaging with voters across various areas in the region.
Today also marks the end of campaigning for eight key constituencies in Jammu region: Kishtwar, Paddar-Nagseni, and Inderwal in Kishtwar district; Doda, Doda West, and Bhaderwah in Doda district; and Ramban and Banihal in Ramban district.
As the BJP wraps up its intense campaign efforts, the party is hopeful for a strong voter turnout and a decisive mandate in these constituencies.(KINS)
