Centre to Respond on J&K Statehood at Appropriate Time, Says Kishan Reddy”

Hyderabad , Oct 11 : Union Minister G Kishan Reddy announced that the Centre would respond at an appropriate time to the call for restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood. During an informal interaction with the media, he firmly stated, “Article 370 will not come back to Jammu and Kashmir.”
His remarks followed a query regarding the National Conference’s push for the restoration of statehood. Reddy, who oversaw the BJP’s efforts during the recent Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir, praised the peaceful conduct of the elections, noting that there was no need for a repoll. “The BJP’s performance was creditworthy,” he said, highlighting that the party secured more seats than in previous elections.
He pointed out that the voter turnout in Jammu and Kashmir surpassed that of Hyderabad, where only about 50 percent of eligible voters participated. Reddy also mentioned the successful conduct of the District Development Council (DDC) and Block Development Council (BDC) elections in the region.
Expressing optimism, Reddy conveyed confidence that the BJP would emerge victorious in the upcoming Assembly elections in Jharkhand.
Shifting gears, he discussed the Telangana government’s ongoing efforts to rejuvenate the Musi River. He expressed opposition to the demolition of houses belonging to the poor, emphasizing the need to protect vulnerable communities amid urban development efforts.
