Terror attack in Shopian: Non-local man found shot dead

Srinagar , Oct 18: A non-local man was discovered dead in the Waduna area of Zainapora, Shopian district, late Thursday night. The body, reportedly riddled with bullets, was found by local residents. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shopian confirmed the incident, labeling it an act of terrorism.
Authorities have launched a thorough investigation to identify the victim and gather evidence from the crime scene. The body has been transported to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities. In response to the attack, security forces have ramped up their vigilance in the area, with intensified efforts underway to locate the attackers.
In light of the attack, security forces have increased their presence throughout the region, particularly in areas considered vulnerable. Officials are urging calm and assuring citizens that efforts are being made to bring the perpetrators to justice.
