Active support of public, employees ensured defeat of Covid-19: DC Kupwara

KUPWARA, AUGUST 02 ( KINS ): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today said that the persistent public support and hard work of the employees of various departments has helped achieve desired results in defeating the COVID-19 pandemic in the district.
The DC said this while addressing a presser in his office chamber, here today.
Giving details, he said that 91.49 percent people of above 45 year age and 27.93 percent of 18 to 44 year age group have been vaccinated till date. He said the positivity rate has declined to 0.2 percent, while recovery rate has gone up to 98.6 percent which is a sign of satisfaction for the district.
The DC reiterated his appeal to the people of the district to continuously follow the Covid appropriate behaviour and other SOPs. He also appealed to them to come forward and administer Covid vaccine at nearby vaccination centres for their own safety against the pandemic.
District Epidemiologist, COVID Control Room, Kupwara Naseer Ahmad and Nodal Officer Covid, Ghulam Nabi Sheikh were present on the occasion.
