Naidkhai residents call for urgent upgrade of Health centre & night Doctor services

By: Aadil Abdullah
Srinagar, Oct 31 (KINS): Residents of the Naidkhai Sonawari area in Bandipora district Thursday urged higher authorities and the newly elected government to upgrade the new type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) in Naidkhai to better meet their healthcare needs.
Local community members voiced their frustration over the lack of essential healthcare services, particularly the absence of a night doctor, which they believe is critical for round-the-clock medical care. The health center is vital for numerous villages in the vicinity, and residents stressed the importance of having consistent medical support.
Ghulam Mohammad Dar, a Naidkhai resident, shared his concerns with the news agency KINS: “Our primary focus is the urgent need to upgrade the NTPHC in Naidkhai. This facility serves over a dozen villages, including Gundiboon, Gundjhangeer, Bathipora, Markundal, Pushwari, and others. Given its significance, we implore the authorities to take immediate action to enhance its capabilities.”
Dar highlighted the necessity for both male and female night doctors, especially for families who cannot afford to travel long distances to Sumbal or Srinagar for treatment. “We are hopeful that the new NC government will take our genuine demands seriously and address this issue without delay,” he added.
In addition to their appeals to the government, residents have also requested the Deputy Commissioner of Bandipora to intervene swiftly to ensure that their healthcare needs are met, allowing them access to the necessary medical services without further hindrance.(KINS)
