Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurates expansion of MANAS-2 helpline to strengthen ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ campaign ‘Govt under PM Modi’s leadership advances rapidly towards a ‘Drug-Free India’ with ‘Zero Tolerance’ Policy’

Delhi, Jan 11 (KINS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah today inaugurated the expansion of the MANAS-2 helpline, an initiative aimed at making citizens active participants in the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ (Drug-Free India) campaign.
Amit Shah as per news gathering agency KINS said that by connecting individuals directly to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) through the toll-free number ‘1933’, MANAS-2 will enhance support, ensure confidentiality, and improve reliability in the fight against drug abuse.
“The helpline expansion is expected to provide more effective assistance to those seeking help or reporting drug-related issues, further strengthening the nation’s efforts to combat the drug menace. In addition, the new office complex of the Bhopal Zonal Unit of the NCB was also inaugurated as part of the government’s broader strategy to intensify its war on drugs,” he said.
Home Minister Shah as per KINS said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the government is focusing on dismantling the entire drug ecosystem through coordinated efforts with state governments, with NCB offices now established in every state to enhance enforcement and monitoring capabilities.
“The Modi government is rapidly moving forward in the direction of creating a ‘Drug-Free India’ under its ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy.It is essential to destroy seized narcotic substances to ensure they are not reused. Therefore, a target has been set to destroy approximately one lakh kilograms of narcotic substances worth 8,672 crore across the country between January 11 and 25,” Home minister added.(KINS)
