Dagger Division Hosts Successful Ex-Servicemen Rally in Baramulla

Srinagar, Jan 13 (KINS): The Indian Army’s Dagger Division, under the Chinar Corps, organized a successful Ex-Servicemen Rally in Baramulla on January 14, 2025. The event saw the participation of hundreds of veterans and their Next of Kin (NOKs), including Veer Naris and Gallantry Awardees, from various tehsils across the district.
Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava, GOC of Chinar Corps, and Maj Gen PS Punia, GOC of Dagger Division, were among the dignitaries who attended the event. The rally provided a platform for veterans to voice their concerns regarding welfare, medical care, and pay and allowances.
The event featured a series of cultural programs, including folk dances, a military band display, and performances by local artists, offering entertainment for all attendees. Representatives from the ECHS, ZSB, and various banks held lectures to highlight benefits available to ex-servicemen through government schemes. Additionally, several banks and recruiting agencies set up stalls to inform veterans about employment opportunities and financial schemes. Record offices were also present to register and address grievances.
A highlight of the event was the felicitation ceremony, which honored Veer Naris, Veer Matas, and Gallantry awardees.
Many veterans expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to reconnect with fellow comrades and learn about the welfare programs available to them. The Dagger Division reaffirmed its commitment to the well-being of its veterans and pledged to continue organizing such events in the future.(KINS)
