Srinagar, July 25 (KINS): Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chowdhary on Friday urged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to fulfill its commitment of restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, stating that people are eagerly waiting for justice and dignity.
Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Chowdhary said, “The BJP had promised the restoration of Article 370 and statehood. Let them fulfill their promise. As for us, we will stand by every commitment we have made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
He expressed hope that the long-pending demand for statehood may see positive development in the coming month. “There is a possibility that people of Jammu and Kashmir may get the good news of statehood restoration in August,” he said.
Highlighting the sacrifices made by the National Conference, Chowdhary said the party has always stood by the people of J&K during the toughest of times. “We have made immense sacrifices for the rights of our people and will continue to raise our voice,” he added. (KINS)
