Former Chenani MLA Dinanath Bhagat passes away

Jammu, Sept 08 (KINS): Former Chenani MLA Dinanath Bhagat, a well-known political leader, passed away on Monday.

Bhagat had been associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) . In 2020, he left the party and briefly joined the Panthers Party before becoming a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC).

He was respected across political lines and remembered as a leader who always kept people’s interests above politics.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed deep sorrow over the news.

“Deeply saddened to receive the news of the demise of our very dear senior colleague and former MLA Chenani Dinanath Bhagat. My sincere condolences to his son Naresh and other members of the family,” Dr. Singh said.

Locals and party workers remembered Bhagat as a secular leader and a familiar face in Chenani who was always available for the people. They said his death is a big loss for the region.(KINS)
