CM Omar Abdullah campaigns in Nagrota for Nov 11 bypoll

KINS Correspondent

Jammu, Nov 06 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday called upon the people of the Nagrota Assembly constituency to turn out in large numbers on November 11 and ensure the victory of the National Conference (NC) in the upcoming byelection.

Addressing a public gathering in support of NC candidate Shameem Begum, Omar Abdullah as per news gathering agency Kashmir Indpeth News Service (KINS) said the bypoll offers an opportunity for the people of Nagrota to “strengthen the voice of development and inclusive politics.”

“I appeal to every voter to come out and participate wholeheartedly in this democratic exercise. Your vote will shape Nagrota’s future and reinforce our commitment to progress and stability,” Omar Abdullah said.

The bypoll was necessitated following the demise of BJP MLA Devender Singh Rana in October 2024. The seat, which holds strategic political importance, is witnessing a keen contest between major political parties.

During the campaign event, a technical snag in the audio system briefly interrupted Omar Abdullah’s address, forcing him to cut short his speech. Despite the disruption, the gathering drew a strong turnout of supporters who cheered for the National Conference candidate.(KINS)
