J&K Police launch massive crackdown on banned organisation Jamaat-e-Islami in Ganderbal

Srinagar, Nov 12 (KINS) In a major, well-coordinated operation, Jammu and Kashmir Police carried out extensive searches at multiple locations across Ganderbal district, targeting individuals and premises associated with the proscribed organisation Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), which is banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

The district-wide counter-terror and anti-separatist operation was conducted simultaneously in several areas with the support of other security agencies. The action followed credible intelligence inputs indicating attempts by JeI-linked elements to revive organisational activities through covert channels and front groups.

During the raids, police recovered a large quantity of incriminating material, including documents, digital devices, and printed content directly linked to the banned outfit. Several suspects were detained for questioning to determine their involvement in unlawful and subversive activities.

These coordinated operations are part of J&K Police’s sustained preventive strategy to dismantle the terror–separatist ecosystem by cutting off its ideological, financial, and logistical networks, thereby ensuring peace and stability in the district.

Reaffirming its unwavering commitment, J&K Police stated that operations against all individuals and entities associated with proscribed organisations will continue to ensure lasting peace, normalcy, and security across the Union Territory.KINS)
