Notorious forest smuggler detained under PSA in Anantnag

Srinagar, Apr 16 (KINS): In a significant action against illegal timber smuggling, Police in Anantnag have detained a notorious forest smuggler under the provisions of the Public Safety Act (PSA).

The accused, identified as Adil Ahmad Padder alias “Pushpa” son of Gh. Mohi-ud-Din Padder, a resident of Larnoo, has been detained following the issuance of a detention order by the District Magistrate Anantnag.

The said individual is a habitual offender and has been involved in multiple cases related to illicit timber smuggling, posing a serious threat to forest resources and environmental sustainability in the region. Acting on the detention order, Anantnag Police executed the warrant and subsequently lodged the accused at District Jail Udhampur.

This action reflects the firm commitment of J&K Police to curb forest-related crimes and safeguard natural resources. Strict legal measures will continue to be taken against individuals involved in such illegal activities.(KINS)
