LG Manoj Sinha reviews Amarnath Ji Yatra arrangements, urges pilgrims to travel only with valid registration

Srinagar, July 04 (KINS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the overall management and ground situation of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, with a focus on pilgrim safety, security and logistical arrangements.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, CEO of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, senior officers from the Civil Administration, Police, Security Forces, the Shrine Board and other concerned departments.
The Lieutenant Governor reviewed the movement of pilgrims, traffic management, security arrangements, accommodation facilities, registration status and other logistical aspects to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
During the meeting, officials noted that an unusually large number of devotees have been arriving without valid registration, leading to long waiting times and inconvenience for pilgrims.
Emphasising that the Yatra is being conducted in accordance with the pilgrim ceiling prescribed under the directions of the Supreme Court, the Lieutenant Governor said strict adherence to the registration schedule is essential to ensure the safety, security and convenience of all devotees. He reiterated that only pilgrims holding valid registration for the designated date will be permitted to proceed on the Yatra routes leading to the Holy Cave Shrine.
Appealing to intending pilgrims, the Lieutenant Governor urged those without valid registration to postpone their journey by a few days to avoid inconvenience on reaching Jammu and Kashmir. He also advised all devotees to complete the mandatory registration process and obtain a valid Yatra Registration Permit before undertaking the pilgrimage.
Reviewing the overall security and logistical arrangements, the Lieutenant Governor directed all departments and security agencies to maintain close coordination and continuous liaison with Langar organisations, service providers and other stakeholders to ensure a safe, seamless and spiritually fulfilling Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.(KINS)
