GenTechPro Annual day: Basharat Bukhari, Raja Muzaffar honoured

Srinagar, Aug 18 (KINS): Former minister Syed Basharat Ahmad Bukhari has praised local entrepreneurs for creating employment opportunities for youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at the annual day function of GenTechPro, a technology, proposal development and staffing company, Bukhari said those who help people earn a livelihood by providing skills and jobs are doing a noble service.
He appreciated local businesses for giving talented youth opportunities to build their careers.
Raja Muzaffar Bhat, Head of the J&K RTI Movement and J&K Climate Action Group, also spoke at the event. He stressed the need for proper waste management and responsible disposal of waste to protect Kashmir’s environment. He said protecting the environment requires collective efforts.
During the function, Syed Basharat Ahmad Bukhari and Raja Muzaffar Bhat were honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards for their contributions to the people of J&K.
GenTechPro employees were also presented certificates of appreciation for their work and contribution to the company’s growth.
GenTechPro CEO and Co-founder Syed Hidayat Bukhari said the company started with three employees and has now grown to a workforce of 18. He said the company aims to increase its workforce to 50 employees by the end of 2027.
He said GenTechPro’s broader vision is to create more employment opportunities for talented youth in the region.
Co-founder and Director Operations Syed Jehangir Nazir said GenTechPro provides technology, proposal development and staffing solutions to government and enterprise clients. He said the company specialises in IT solutions, proposal development and workforce support.
He added that the company’s parent organisation is headquartered in Washington, D.C., with offshore offices in Srinagar, Chennai and Noida.
Dr. Tariq Ahmad Masoodi, a biotechnology and cancer-genomics scientist, also attended the event. He spoke about the growing role of AI, genomics and precision diagnostics in healthcare. He stressed the importance of using data and individual genetic information to support early cancer detection and personalised treatment.
Sheikh Owais, International Learning and Development Expert and Founder of Aurelian Academy, highlighted the importance of English-language skills and correct pronunciation in professional communication.
The annual day concluded with the organisers thanking the guests and reaffirming GenTechPro’s commitment to creating more professional opportunities for talented youth in Jammu and Kashmir.(KINS)
