Former Finance Minister and senior political leader Tariq Ahmed Karra expressed deep shock and sadness over the passing of Devinder Singh Rana, describing him as a “visionary politician and exceptional human being.” Reflecting on Rana’s enduring support and kindness, Karra shared a personal memory of the late leader’s encouragement after he presented Jammu and Kashmir’s first zero-budget proposal in the Assembly. “He was the first to call and congratulate me on my presentation of the budget,” Karra said, recalling Rana’s words of affirmation as pivotal.
Karra praised Rana as an outstanding orator, a great friend, and a guiding light whose legacy will inspire future generations. “His passing leaves an unfillable void in J&K,” Karra noted, emphasizing Rana’s contributions to the community and his selfless commitment to its people.
