NSA Ajit Doval to Receive Prestigious Lokmanya Tilak Award

Srinagar, July 20 (KINS): National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has been selected for the prestigious Lokmanya Tilak Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to national security, the Tilak Smarak Trust announced on Monday.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will present the award to Doval at a ceremony in Pune on August 1, the death anniversary of freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak.

An 81-year-old former IPS officer, Doval is India’s longest-serving National Security Advisor and has played a key role in handling security challenges in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Mizoram and Sikkim, besides contributing to major diplomatic initiatives, including the resolution of the Doklam standoff.

Instituted in 1983, the Lokmanya Tilak Award honours individuals for their exceptional contribution to the nation’s progress and development. (KINS)
