LG Manoj Sinha chairs high-level security review, orders enhanced protection for non-local workers

Srinagar, Aug 1 (KINS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday chaired a high-level security review meeting and directed authorities to strengthen security measures, intensify anti-terror operations, and ensure enhanced protection for labourers from outside Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Principal Secretary Home Chandraker Bharti, Special DG Coordination S.J.M. Gillani, ADGP CID Nitish Kumar, Commissioner/Secretary GAD M. Raju, IGPs, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, SSPs and other senior officials.
During the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor instructed all Deputy Commissioners and SSPs to undertake a comprehensive review of the Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) formulated for the safety and security of non-local workers. He also directed employers to ensure that labourers from other states and Union Territories are covered under insurance schemes and that their details are registered with the local police and district administration.
Emphasising the need for a strong counter-terror response, the Lieutenant Governor said security forces must intensify precise and high-impact anti-terror operations to eliminate terrorists and dismantle their support networks.
Referring to the killing of two non-local labourers in Kulgam, he directed the administration to ensure dignified last rites for the victims and extend all possible assistance to the bereaved families.
The meeting also reviewed security arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and discussed measures to further strengthen the overall security grid across the Union Territory.(KINS)
