India set to celebrate 80th Independence Day; PM Modi to lead main ceremony at Red Fort

Srinagar, Aug 13 (KINS): The entire country is gearing up to celebrate the 80th Independence Day on August 15, with patriotic programmes, flag-hoisting ceremonies and cultural events planned across the nation. The main national celebration will be held at the Red Fort in New Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the celebrations.

The Prime Minister will hoist the National Flag at the historic Red Fort and address the nation, while elaborate ceremonial arrangements have been made for the occasion.

Across the country, government institutions, schools, security forces, civil society organisations and local communities are preparing to mark Independence Day with flag-hoisting ceremonies, cultural programmes, patriotic events and community activities, reflecting the spirit of national unity and pride.

The celebrations will also feature special programmes highlighting India’s journey since Independence and the country’s vision for the future, with citizens being encouraged to participate in large numbers and celebrate the national occasion with enthusiasm.(KINS)
