Srinagar, Aug 27 (KINS): The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department on Thursday ordered a major reshuffle of senior police officers across the Union Territory, with several key appointments and transfers coming into effect immediately.
As per Government Order No. 438-Home of 2026, M.K. Sinha, IPS, has been transferred and posted as ADG CID J&K, replacing Nitish Kumar, who has been posted as ADG Armed Police J&K.
Uttam Chand, IPS, has been posted as IGP Railways, J&K, while Bhim Sen Tuti, IPS, has been transferred as IG Headquarters, J&K. Sujit Kumar, IPS, has been appointed IG Kashmir Zone, while Vivek Gupta, IPS, has been posted as IGP Security J&K.
Tejinder Singh, IPS, will take over as IG Jammu Zone, replacing Bhim Sen Tuti. Shakti Kumar Pathak, IPS, has been designated as Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau.
At the DIG level, Mubassir Latifi Ameer, IPS, has been posted as DIG IR Kashmir.
The order also includes changes at the SSP level. Sahil Sarangal, IPS, has been posted as SSP Pulwama, while Sunny Gupta, IPS, will take charge as SSP Kishtwar. Tahir Saleem Khan, JKPS, has been posted as SSP Handwara, replacing Sarangal.
Muzaffar Ahmad Shah, JKPS, has been posted as SO to IG Kashmir Zone, while Naresh Singh, JKPS, has been transferred as SSP Rajouri.
The transfers and postings have been ordered in the interest of administration and with immediate effect. (KINS)
