SOS IYC Leads Flood Relief Mission in Nepal

Kathmandu, Nepal Sep 03: Under the SOS IYC initiative, and inspired by the vision of Rahul Gandhi the Indian Youth Congress has launched a dedicated relief mission in Nepal to support communities severely affected by floods and landslides.

The relief initiative is being carried out as per the directions of IYC National In-charge Manish Sharma and IYC National President Uday Bhanu Chib , with Manpreet Singh Mani, National Secretary, IYC, leading the relief efforts on the ground.
The team has mobilised essential relief materials, including food and ration, safe drinking water, medical supplies, hygiene and sanitary kits, blankets, tarpaulins, mosquito nets, solar lights, candles and other essential items.
The team is reaching severely affected areas to assess ground requirements and distribute relief directly among affected families.
Manpreet Singh Mani said:

“Nepal is not merely a neighbouring country; it is a close friend with whom India shares deep bonds of humanity, friendship and brotherhood. Under SOS IYC, we stand firmly with the people of Nepal in this hour of crisis. Our teams are working on the ground to reach the most affected communities and ensure that essential relief reaches those who need it the most,” they said in a statement.
The SOS IYC relief operation will continue in coordination with local authorities, volunteers and community representatives, with assistance being expanded according to the needs identified on the ground.
