Amanullah Khan raises hailstorm compensation, KCC waiver issues with Shopian Horticulture Officer
Shopian Sep 07 (KINS): Social activist Amanullah Khan today met the Chief Horticulture Officer, Shopian, and discussed various issues concerning the horticulture community, particularly the difficulties being faced by fruit growers following the recent hailstorm.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the compensation process for hailstorm-affected growers, KCC loan waiver, and the provision of anti-hail nets to protect orchards from weather-related damage.
Amanullah Khan urged the authorities to ensure that the damage assessment and compensation process is carried out fairly and that affected growers receive timely relief.
He also appealed to the government to take the genuine demands of growers seriously and work towards long-term and sustainable measures for the protection of the horticulture sector.
He stressed that the concerns of farmers and fruit growers should not be forgotten once the current season is over, but should continue to receive the government’s attention and necessary follow-up.
Amanullah Khan said he would continue to follow up on these issues and raise the concerns of the horticulture community at appropriate forums.
