Shopian Sep 05 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party District President Shopian Gowhar Hassan Wani today held a press conference in Shopian, raising questions over what he described as the “hollow promises” made by the National Conference during the elections.
Gowhar Wani said the National Conference had made several commitments to the people and urged the party leadership to fulfil the promises made to the public. He said people are waiting for concrete action on the issues that were raised during the election campaign.
The Apni Party leader also expressed concern over the recent hike in electricity tariffs, stating that the increase has added to the burden on the common people.
Gowhar Hassan Wani invited all political parties and groups in District Shopian to come together and join a peaceful demonstration against the recent electricity tariff hike. He appealed to all stakeholders to participate in the proposed protest and raise their voice against the decision through democratic and peaceful means.
He said the Apni Party would continue to raise issues concerning the people and seek accountability from the government on its commitments.
