Srinagar, Sep 09 (KINS): Veteran filmmaker Ramesh Sippy, director of Sholay, said he has been visiting Kashmir since 1964 and expressed hope that filmmakers will once again shoot more films in the Valley.
Speaking to reporters, Sippy said the return of tourists and filmmakers would further boost the region’s film environment, adding that government support was also encouraging.
He said he was looking forward to attending the International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK) and watching films by emerging filmmakers.
Sippy also praised the talent in contemporary Indian cinema, saying the industry has capable young filmmakers who should be encouraged to make meaningful films. (KINS)
