Srinagar, Sept 23 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir Police have accorded approval for attachment of a double-storey residential house in Namblan village of Sheeri, Baramulla, in connection with a terror-related case.
According to Police Order No. 2695 of 2026, issued by J&K Police Headquarters, Srinagar, the property belongs to Aijaz Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Namblan, Sheeri, who was arrested in FIR No. 37/2026 registered at Police Station Sheeri under the Arms Act and provisions of the UAPA.
Police said Ganie was apprehended on August 1, 2026, at a naka at Zandfarn, Goriwan crossing, while allegedly attempting to flee. A pistol with magazine, 10 live rounds of 9mm ammunition and a mobile phone with two SIM cards were recovered from his possession.
During investigation, police said two hand grenades were also recovered from his residential house and alleged that the accused had provided shelter and logistical support to terrorists and used the house to facilitate terrorist activities.
Based on the investigation, the property was treated as “proceeds of terrorism” under the UAPA. The order, signed by DGP Nalin Prabhat, accords prior approval under Section 25 of the UAPA for attachment of the house located on land bearing Khasra No. 423 min at Namblan, Sheeri, Baramulla.(KINS)
