440 Pika Bullets Found In Box In Kupwara Village

At least 440 rounds of Pika machine gun were found by locals during the earth excavation for laying foundation for a mosque at Sheikh Mohalla area of Check Natnussa in Kupwara district of north Kashmir on Sunday.

Official sources said that villagers found a box containing ammunition during the earth exacavtion around later afternoon and later informed police. Soon a team of police and army reached the spot and took the box in their custody.

A senior police officer said that 440 rounds of Pika machine gun were found from the box and it seems that somebody had hid it around two decades back. He said that a case has been registered in this regard. (GNS)
