Two militants killed in nocturnal gunfight in Ananthnag

Srinagar : Two militants were slain in an overnight gunfight in south Kashmir’s Ananthnag village.

Reports reaching Kashmir Indepth said two militants were killed in a nocturnal gunfight in Naina Sangam area of Ananthnag on Friday.

In the ensuring gunfight two militants were killed and both bodies were recovered from the gunfight site a police officer told Kashmir Indepth.

He said their identities and affiliations is being ascertained.

Earlier, a mixture of forces including Army’s 3 RR, SOG and CRPF laid siege in Naina Sangam following information about the presence of militants in the area.

“As the searches were going on, the search party was fired upon by the militants. The fire was retaliated leading to a gunfight.

In the ensuing gunfight, two militants were Killed.
