Won’t tolerate ‘authoritarian’ attitude of DC Bandipora: JKSCD

Srinagar April 9: Jammu and Kashmir Society of Consultant Doctors (JKSCD) has denounced the alleged  “authoritarian attitude and misbehavior” of DC Bandipora towards doctors working in the district.

A spokesperson of JKSCD in a statement said JKSCD can confirm the said DC’s denigrating and abusive behavior against members of the noble profession. “In a series of recent episodes, DC Bandipora has misbehaved with doctors working at the Hajin block of the district.

Dr. Nisar Ahmed Najjar, a senior medical officer and a soft-spoken member of our community has been the most recent victim of DC’s wrath and possible psychopathic behavior,” the statement said.

The statement quoting President JKSCD Dr. Maajed Jehangeer where he made it clear that such high handedness, overbearing and arbitrary behavior will not be tolerated by the doctor community. District Bandipora has a high caseload of COVID-19 positive patients and doctors are doing their utmost to fight this battle against all odds.

Dr. Jehangeer said, “We want to make it clear that any official having higher authority has to keep in mind the sanctity of this profession. At a time when doctors are risking their lives as well as of their family members in the fight against a scourge that is threatening the whole humanity, this unceremonious and highly reprehensible behavior by DC Bandipora smacks of unprofessionalism”. “JKSCD demanded immediate suspension of and a high-level inquiry into his behavior. We also suggest that his behavior be clinically evaluated as well,” the statement added.
