JAMMU, Sep 19 (KINS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday laid the foundation stone of the Mata Lalleshwari Cultural & Heritage Centre at Mata Bhaderkali Asthapan, Thalwal, Jammu.
The centre, sanctioned under the Capex budget at a cost of ₹4.5 crore, aims to preserve and promote the legacy and teachings of Yogini Lalleshwari.
Sinha said the centre will serve as a living repository of Jammu Kashmir’s spiritual and cultural heritage, promoting research, art, spirituality and social harmony.
He said the centre will empower youth through art and creative expression, support academic research and contribute to spiritual tourism and economic revitalisation by attracting seekers, historians and travellers from across the world.
“The Centre will stand as a monument to India’s cultural soul and a source of national strength,” the LG said.
He also highlighted Mata Lalleshwari’s teachings on tolerance, equality and inner transformation, saying they continue to inspire generations.
The centre will include exhibitions, translation initiatives, archival facilities and fellowships in Kashmir Shaivism.(KINS)
