Awareness/ Training programme for Aganwardi workers, Farm women held at Pulwama

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 18: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Pulwama in collaboration with SKUAST- Kashmir organized day long On-campus awareness cum- training programme for Aganwardi workers and Farm women as part of celebration of Rashtriya Poshan Mah.

The programme was chaired by Prof. and Head Dr. Musarat Shafi.

In her address, she gave an overview of Poshan Mah and stressed on the need for ensuring consumption of wholesome and nutritious food, so that what we grow and consume has a positive impact on human health.

During the programme, scientists of the Kendra highlighted the importance of nutrition garden, nutri thali, value addition of fruits and vegetables and backyard poultry, in ensuring food, nutritional and livelihood security, especially for marginal and landless farmers.

In order to encourage the participants for establishing kitchen gardens, seeds of various Rabi vegetables provided by IFFCO were distributed among them.

To encourage the participants to set up a nutrition garden, a visit to the demonstration unit of nutri garden was arranged by the Kendra staff. The participants also visited other different demonstration units of the Kendra to get firsthand information on agriculture and allied sectors.
