Mass Virtual PTM organized in Govt Schools of Jammu Division

JAMMU, JULY 26 ( KINS): To minimize the academic loss faced by students and their apprehensions related to career, subject selection etc., a Mega  Parent Teacher Meet was organized in all the Government Schools of Jammu Division through virtual mode. The event was coordinated by Counselling cell DSEJ through District counselling coordinators, ZCCs, and DNOs.

The key points highlighted and discussed with parents included Career guidance through JK Career Portal ‘ Manzilein‘, DSEJ Radio & Tele classes and assessment tests at the end of every Radio & Tele-classes, which will be submitted to concerned school teachers and considered for preparation of annual results. Schools/Teachers were oriented in advance about the issues to be discussed with parents.

Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director School Education Jammu appreciated the efforts of Counselling Cell DSEJ, Heads of institutions and added that such meetings are necessary to keep all stakeholders motivated. Vigilant and informed parents can encourage their wards to invest time in virtual learning till the schools reopen.

“Career guidance and facilitating students for subject selection at this point of time gains significance due to recently declared Board results” said Romesh Kumar, Head counselling Cell DSEJ while interacting with the stakeholders. It is to mention here that a large-scale awareness session on ‘Career Guidance Portal’ in every district is already going on through Team Members, Counselling Cell DSEJ since the beginning of this month and these sessions.

Pertinently, the monthly PTM has emerged as a best practice of the Directorate in which thousands of stakeholders interact to discuss various contemporary issues besides academics. ( KINS)
