CCI calls on Advisor Bhatnagar, discusses issues of business community

Jammu , Aug 17 ( KINS ) : A delegation of Chamber of  Commerce and Industry Jammu led by its President, Arun Gupta met the Advisor to Lt Governor, Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar and discussed various issues related to the business community.

During the detailed deliberations and discussions, Sh. Arun Gupta, President CCI  urged the Advisor to intensify the vaccination drive across the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory especially for the traders as their establishments are visited by huge number of consumers on a daily basis thus increasing the chances of risk of Covid-19 virus to those managing these establishments by being physically present there.

The other issue that came to be discussed with Advisor Bhatnagar was the dilapidated condition of roads in Jammu especially those leading to business hubs including industrial estates, Ware House, Transport Nagar, etc. The Chamber President asked him to fix accountability of engineers of R&B Department monitoring the construction of roads across Jammu region.

Since Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar is also holding the charge of Revenue Department, Ash. Arun Gupta, President CCI urged him to do justice with members of Mahajan and  Khatri communities who have been debarred from purchasing agricultural lands in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Other issues raised by the Chamber delegation were the establishment of single window system for re-opening of schools in J&K and continuation of Annual Darbar Move practice.

The Chamber President conveyed to the Advisor that the Annual Darbar Move process was aimed at maintaining communal harmony and brotherhood especially among the people of Jammu and Kashmir regions and ending this process would have an adverse impact not only upon the traditional bond between the two regions and their people but also on the business community. Besides, there is need to look the matter of people having their registered and legal properties on Khads as due to chaos created by the Revenue officials they are not able to sell and buy their properties.

Advisor Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar gave a patient hearing to the Chamber delegation members and assured them of early consideration of the issues raised by the Chamber. He also appreciated the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry for discharging its Corporate Social Responsibility by carrying out several works during the first and second wave of Covid-19 across Jammu.
