Advisor Khan chairs the 29th AGM of WDC

JAMMU, AUGUST 20 ( KINS ) : The 29th Adjourned Annual General Meeting (AGM) of J&K Women’s Development Corporation (WDC) was convened today here under the chairmanship of Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, where the accounts for the year 2019-20 were adopted.

The Advisor, who is also Chairman, JKWDC and Secretary, Social Welfare, Sheetal Nanda appreciated the efforts made by the management of WDC for completing the accounts of the corporation well on time.

The Advisor further urged the corporation to continue doing the good work and meet all the expectations of women associated with it. He asked them to provide the guidance to the women taking the loan from the corporation to invest it in a better way.

The Advisor further asked them that the women constitute half of the human population and deserves better opportunities to excel and make the mark. He advised the corporation to assist women in realisation of their dreams who harbour any in the field of entrepreneurship.

The Managing Director, Dr. Naheed Soz while welcoming the shareholders informed that the financial health of the corporation is up to the mark as on date. She further informed the chair that WDC has disbursed Rs. 255.26 crores of loan benefitting 18976 women under various schemes.She also claimed that the recovery of loan amount has reached up to 95% in the corporation.

Regarding the shareholders the MD gave out that the LG has a shareholding of 95.95%, Administrative Secretary Finance has 1.62%, Administrative Secretary, Social Welfare1.62% and Managing Director, JKWDC 0.81% share holding in the corporation.

 

The meeting was also attended by Showkat Hussain Mir, Director Finance(representing Finance Department), Mohd. Ashraf Hakak, OSD to the Advisor and other concerned officers and auditor of the corporation.
