Heat-wave revisits as mercury again witness surge in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 15 (KINS) Heat-wave revisited as mercury again witnessed a surge on Wednesday after pleasant weather for about a week in the Kashmir valley.

There is no possibility any relief from the heatwave as weather will remain dry during the next four days in the Jammu and Kashmir, a Met department spokesman said this evening.

He said the maximum temperature in Srinagar today was 30.5 degree which was 2.4 notches above normal while the minimum temperature was 15.7 degree, 2.6 notches above normal.

The sky would be mainly clear and the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 31 degree and 15 degree respectively in Srinagar during the next 24 hours.

Pahalgam, a world famous health resort in south Kashmir, the maximum temperature was 25.6 degree, which was 1.5 degree above normal while the minimum temperature was 10.3 degree, 1.8 degree above normal.

Gulmarg in north Kashmir the maximum temperature was 22 degree, 2.8 notches above normal while the minimum was normal at 9 degree.

Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and Mirpur recorded 36.6 degree and 36.7 degree maximum temperature respectively, Met spokesman said adding the minimum temperature was 21.5 degree and 26.7 degree. He said the sky would be mainly clear and the maximum and minimum temperature will be 37 degree and 21 degree respectively at Muzaffarabad during the next 24 hours.

Qazigund, Kokernag and Kupwara also recorded 2.7 degree to 3.3 degree above normal maximum temperature.
