Handwara Police’s Striking Success in 2023: 50 NDPS Cases Registered, Properties Worth Rs. 7 Crores Seized

Srinagar, Dec 31: In a year marked by unwavering determination, the Handwara Police achieved remarkable success in combating the drug menace, with a total of 50 cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The dedicated team demonstrated an exceptional commitment to enforcing the law and disrupting the illegal drug trade in the region.
Of the 50 cases, 48 were effectively challaned, showcasing the department’s proactive approach and ensuring legal consequences for offenders. This robust enforcement reflects Handwara Police’s dedication to upholding the rule of law and eradicating the scourge of illicit drugs from the community.

The seizure of substances with an estimated value of one crore underscores the police’s success in intercepting and preventing the distribution of narcotics, disrupting the supply chain and acting as a deterrent to potential offenders.

In a bold move to address the roots of the drug trade, Handwara Police attached three properties with an estimated combined worth of 7 crores. This strategic approach aims to dismantle the financial foundations of those involved in the illicit drug business, sending a clear message that such activities will not be tolerated.
