DC Kulgam Evaluates Action Plan for Export Promotion

Srinagar, Jan 16: In a bid to elevate the district’s status as an export hub and stimulate the local economy, Deputy Commissioner Athar Aamir Khan led a meeting of the District Level Export Promotion Committee. The focus was on formulating a comprehensive Export Promotion Action Plan for Kulgam, emphasizing a 20% increase in Garlic and Red Chilli production this year.
GM DIC Bashir Ahmad presented a blueprint for the District Export Promotion Plan during the meeting, highlighting the identification of Red Chillies and Garlic under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative. The DC, keen on enhancing exports, assessed measures taken to boost production in the district and directed officers to ensure a 20% rise in Red Chilli and Garlic production.
The meeting delved into various aspects of finalizing the District Export Action Plan, with the DC instructing a thorough revision of the Draft Plan before seeking approval in the next session. Attendees included ADDC Showkat Ahmad Rather, JDP Zahid Sajjad, GM DIC, DM NABARD, CHO, CAO, and other officers.
