Security Heightened in Kulgam Ahead of Republic Day Celebrations

Kulgam Correspondent
Srinagar, Jan 19: In anticipation of the Republic Day celebrations, authorities in Kulgam district, South Kashmir, have implemented stringent security measures to ensure a safe and secure environment during the upcoming festivities.
Officials confirmed on Friday that a comprehensive security plan has been put in place, with an emphasis on heightened vigilance across the district. Numerous checkpoints have been strategically erected in various locations within Kulgam, where security personnel are actively engaged in thorough vehicle checks and frisking operations.

Sources said that this proactive security initiative stems from the directives of SSP Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal-IPS. Under his guidance, Kulgam police have intensified search operations in the region, focusing on key areas such as Mirbazar. The ongoing process of searches is a part of the pre-Republic Day security measures to preemptively address any potential security threats.

The heightened security measures come ahead of the Republic Day functions scheduled to take place at the district headquarters of Kulgam on January 26. Officials are keen on ensuring the smooth conduct of the celebrations while prioritizing the safety and well-being of residents and attendees.

Local authorities have urged the public to cooperate with security personnel during vehicle checks and other security protocols. The increased security presence aims to instill confidence among the residents and create an environment conducive to the celebration of the Republic Day milestone. As the nation prepares to mark its 75th Republic Day, Kulgam remains committed to upholding security standards and ensuring a memorable and secure celebration for all.
