BP says, no objection to grand alliance

Srinagar, Nov 21: Amid clamor for government formation in JK under grand alliance, the Bhartiya Janata Party today said that It has no objection if grand alliance among National Conference, PDP and the Congress is formed.
BJP state general secretary organization Ashok Kouk said that let Congress, PDP and the Congress form the government. ” We have no objection. Let them forge alliance and form the government,” he said.
Earlier senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Kavinder Gupta alleged that PDP, NC and Congress were coming together to form a government in the state “on the directions from Pakistan.”
Reacting to reports that the three parties were holding talks to form the next government in the state, which is currently under governor’s rule, he said, “They are coming together to form the government on directions of Pakistan just to keep BJP away”
In a hurriedly called press conference at the party headquarters in Jammu, he alleged the decision of forming the government was taken in a meeting held in Dubai. “The representatives of these parties had recently met members of Pakistani agencies.
On their behest, they are cobbling the alliance. First, on behest of Pakistan, they stayed away from democratic processes and now they are stitching an alliance,” he claimed.
Gupta, who has been the Speaker of the Assembly and later the Deputy Chief Minister urging the PDP-BJP coalition said, “Pakistan doesn’t want situation in Kashmir to improve and these parties often keep them in good humour.”
Meanwhile in a statement, BJP state spokesman Brigadier Anil Gupta said the single-region-single-religion “unholy alliance” supported by the “opportunistic Congress” was likely to lead to trifurcation of the state and push it into an inter-regional turmoil.
Referring to the BJP’s tie-up with former separatist Sajjad Lone and some dissenting MLAs from other parties, Gupta said a third Front in J&K was necessary to safeguard democracy in view of the prevailing political environment in the state.
