Three members of family injured in fresh shelling in Poonch

Poonch, March 2 : Two siblings and their mother were injured as India and Pakistan troops continued shelling at Mankote area of Poonch district of Jammu on Saturday.

A police officer told that Pakistan Army in violation of ceasefire attacked Indian Army’s posts in Mankote as a result of which some shells landed in residential areas.

In the incident, two siblings namely Azad Ahmad, Zahida Khatoon and their mother Zarina wife of Mohd Shabir of Ghani village in Mankote received injuries, he said.

The injured were taken to SDH Mendhar for treatment, he said.

BMO Mendhar Dr Parvaiz Khan said that the condition of the trio is stable.

On Friday evening, three members of a family including a brother, sister and their mother died and two others injured when a shell hit their house at Salotri in Krishna Ghati sector. (GNS)
