PC delegation led by Sajad Gani Lone meets Governor

 Srinagar, May 17,: A delegation of Peoples Conference led by party chairman Sajad Gani Lone Friday met Governor Satya Pal Malik and demanded a high-level inquiry into use of indiscriminate and disproportionate force on people in Pattan by police.

Accompanied by PC senior vice- President Abdul Gani Vakil, general secretary Imran Reza Ansari, Bashir Dar, Abid Hussain Ansari, Raja Aijaz Ali, Mayor Srinagar Junaid Azim Matto and Deputy Mayor Sheikh Mohammad Imran, Sajad told the Governor that brute force was used on people, who were protesting against outraging of chastity of a 3-year-old kid.

“The delegation demanded a high-level enquiry to investigate why excessive force was used on protestors which resulted in the death of young Arshad Hussain Dar,” the party spokesman said, adding that they also urged the Governor to ensure proper rehabilitation of the family of Arshad.

The PC delegation demanded stern punishment for the police personnel responsible for killing of Arshad.

“Those responsible for the inhuman act should be deal strictly to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future,” the party leaders told the Governor.
