Two Army men were killed during a cordon and search operation late Tuesday night in an encounter with militants along the Line of Control in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district in Jammu division.
An official said that the troops were carrying out searches in the area around Manawar Tawi in Kalal since Tuesday morning following inputs about the presence of some militants.
He said that when the searches were in progress, militants opened fire on the troops and during a fierce gunfight, the two army men were killed.
He added that search operation is still underway in the area.
