Army, JK Skill development mission empowering youth of Lolab

Srinagar, June 2 (KINS): Army Garrison Charkut along with J&K Skill Development Mission has started various programs to empower the local youth by providing them with opportunities to enhance their skills.

According to Army statement issued to news agency KINS, “J&K Skill Development Mission is starting 12 online courses for youth. Army Garrison Charkut with assistance from Army Camp Chandigam, Gujjarpatti and Kigam encouraged 196 local youth to get enrolled in these courses,”

“These courses cater for youth with different education qualifications and age groups. It includes basic skills like tailoring (PPE kits and Mask) to specialised skills like Entrepreneurship Development and Cyber Security. All these courses will be conducted online, keeping in mind the precautions in place due to COVID-19. At the termination of the course the students will be provided with certification,” the statement reads.

The Courses were inaugurated by Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon while addressing the participants online on 02 June 2020.

“He encouraged the students to work hard and persevere. The students thanked J&K Skill Development Mission and Army in providing them this excellent opportunity to enhance their skills and empower them to carve a brighter future for themselves, their families and the Valley of Lolab”.(KINS)
