ADC Awantipora appeals people to follow COVID guidelines

Awantipora July 16(KINS): Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora has appealed people to follow COVID guidelines for containing spread of the deadly virus.

He has issued the statement as there has been a surge in coronavirus cases in Pulwama for last few weeks.

The ADC Awantipora said the reason for spike in COVID-19 cases in valley and particularly in Pulwama district is because people are not following SOPs and other health guidelines.

“We have closed all shops, banks and other businesses in various villages of Awantipora. We are closely monitoring the situation and government is making every effort to prevent further spread of such cases in the district,” he told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).

He also appealed people to follow SOPs and other health guidelines.

After Ist COVID-19 case was reported from Noorpora two weeks before, many new positive cases have emerged in this village from last few days.

Similarly many cases have been detected in various villages of Pulwama district.

If one looks over all situation in the district, the figures are point of concern.

In all districts of J&K, Pulwama is at 4th spot in COVID-19 cases.

During past few days, Pulwama district has witnessed a great spike in positive cases.
Every day on an average almost 30 to 35 postives cases are being reported.

The recovery rate is 50% as till now 375 people have recovered out of 742 cases. However, death rate is 1.07%.(KINS)
