CAB, vaccination essential to keep Covid-19 at bay: DC Kupwara  

KUPWARA, JULY 12 (KINS): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today once again reiterated his appeal to the people of Kupwara district to continue the use of mask and maintenance of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and other SOPs to overcome the resurgence of the Covid.

The Deputy Commissioner said this while addressing a presser here.

Giving details, the DC said that the positivity rate has declined to 0.4 percent, while Recovery rate has gone up to 98 percent which is a good sign of satisfaction for the district. He said that out of 13947 positive cases, 13641 have been recovered till date.

He said the district has currently 141 active positive cases, adding that only 9 patients are admitted in SDH Kupwara, 116 are under home isolation.

Regarding vaccination, the DC said that 70 percent of the target population of above 45 years has been vaccinated till date. While, 18 percent of 18-44 year aged people have been vaccinated so far in the district.

He said that the only way to keep the Covid at bay is to follow the Covid Appropriate Behaviour and get vaccinated. He again appealed not to lower the guard against the Covid pandemic.
