Dist. Adm. takes stringent action against guilty Brick Kiln owners at B’gam

BUDGAM, JULY 16 (KINS): Acting upon the instructions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Budgam today along with officials of Revenue, Municipality, Police and Geology & Mining conducted a surprise visit of various brick kiln units operating in the district which were allegedly selling bricks at exorbitant rates.

 

Pertinent to mention here that DC Budgam vide his office order dated 21 August, 2020 had fixed rate of bricks as 21000 per 3000 bricks including all taxes except transportation.

 

The ADC instructed to arrest 05 guilty persons associated with various brick kilns namely Gh. Hussain Wani 71-T, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat  105, Mohammad Jaffer 71-P, Ali Mohammad  Rather 705, Shabir Ahmad 71-P. The ADC imposed a spot penalty against the violators, seized 3 vehicles and said that strict action as per law shall follow.

 

An FIR No. 211/2021 dated 15 July, 2021 under section 188 of IPC and 15, 21 of Brick Kiln Act was also registered in the police station Budgam against the violators.

 

Meanwhile, DC Budgam has once again warned the erring brick kiln owners to refrain from overcharging and sale of sub standard material. The DC categorically said that no brick kiln owner shall be permitted to overcharge at exorbitant rates.

 

The DC Budgam appealed general public to approach his office or office of ADC, SDM or Tehsildar concerned,  to register a complaint if any, against those brick kiln owners who are violating government approved  rates. (KINS)
