Jammu, Jul 17 (KINS) Alert troops of the Border Security Force on Saturday morning nabbed one man who was seen moving suspiciously close to the international border in Kanhachak belt here in the city outskirts.
He was later handed over to the police.
Police sources said that one person hailing from Assam was caught by the BSF when he was moving under suspicious circumstances close to the border in village Kukriya of Kanachak sector.
After questioning, the BSF troops handed over the man to the officials of police station Kahachak for further investigations.
The man was identified as Najmul Haque, 31, resident of Kazipara, Sub Division Bilasipara, District Dhubri, Assam.
“One government identity card was recovered from him,” police sources said, adding that during investigation it was found that he had come to Jammu in search of work and was sent by a private employment agency.
“He had accidentally reached near the international border and his credentials from the concerned police station of his native village have been verified and soon will be sent back,” police said.
“Nothing incriminating was found from his possession,” police said adding that the investigations are on the matter.
Jammu Police have especially appealed to the people in the border areas to remain alert and immediately inform the nearby police station on seeing any suspicious movement or activity.( SOURCE UNI)
