DC Kupwara appeals youth below 45 year age for vaccination  

KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 04 ( KINS ):  The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today appealed youth below the age of 45 years to come forward and vaccinate themselves at nearest vaccination centres established across the district so that the possible 3rd wave of COVID-19 could be defeated.

He was addressing a presser in his office chamber, here today. Giving details, the DC said that there are 33 active cases in the district, of which 26 are in home isolation and 07 under administrative quarantine.

The DC said recovery rate stands at 98.60 percent which is satisfactory adding that the weekly positivity rate has slightly declined to 0.22 percent which is also satisfactory. He congratulated all the stakeholders involved in Covid mitigation efforts including Health and other allied departments.

Regarding vaccination, the DC said that 100 percent vaccination of above 45 year population has already been achieved and 53 percent population of 18 plus age group has also been vaccinated so far in the district.

The DC appealed the people of Kupwara district to follow all COVID SOPs in letter and spirit by usage of masks, hand hygiene and maintaining social distance so as to keep the district free from the pandemic.
