RAJOURI, SEPT  27 ( KINS) : District Administration has stepped up Covid Containment and management including enforcement of COVID Appropriate Behaviour, aggressive testing, registration of beneficiaries under the SEHAT scheme, to avert possible third wave.

To review the range of containment measures, Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh K Shavan chaired a meeting and called for putting in extra efforts for efficient COVID control and management in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Pawan Kumar; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; CEO Education, Gulzar Hussain; DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir; CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; Dy CMO, Dr Anees Altaf Nabi; MS GMC&AH, Dr Mehmood; District ASHA Coordinator, Dr Mohd Farooq Mir, DHO, Dr Khalid; BDOs, BMOs and CDPOs.

Detailed discussion on different measures including vaccination of 18-44 age group, enforcement of COVID Appropriate Behaviour, aggressive testing, registration of beneficiaries under the SEHAT scheme etc was held threadbare in the meeting.

Concerning the ongoing vaccination drive for the 18-44 age-group, the DC stressed the concern to achieve the set targets by administering vaccine doses to all eligible persons within the shortest possible time by taking the assistance of Lokmitras.

“It has been observed that some people took the first vaccine dose and delayed the second dose which is a matter of great concern as following the time interval between the two is important for its effectiveness”, said the DC.

He asked the concerned officers to ensure that the beneficiaries must get the first and second covid vaccination doses timely.

Taking strong note of violation of Covid Appropriate Behaviour in the public places, the DC asked the concerned officers to take strict action against the violators as per the norms besides motivating people to adhere to the SOPs in letter and spirit.

While reviewing the progress on registration of beneficiaries under the SEHAT scheme, it was informed that 49 per cent of the population of the district has been registered under the scheme.
