 Indian Army, Agriculture department organise Buyer-seller meet at village Sirgwari

KISHTWAR, OCT 06 ( KINS): Indian Army, in collaboration with Department of Agriculture Kishtwar, today  organised Buyer-seller meet  here at village Sirgwari of Block Thakrie for marketing of first flush/ Produce of locally grown button type mushroom. The mushroom cultivation has been introduced in the area for first time by Indian Army and Department of Agriculture with an aim to uplift the economic development of the farming community in the District Kishtwar.

The pasturised compost bags alongwith spawn and other required material for its cultivation was arranged by Department of Agriculture & Farmer Welfare and was distributed among the farmers by Indian Army under Operation Sadbhaavna.

The technical guidance was provided by Manzoor Zargar AEO Palmar and Malik Rafi Nan AEO Anjole Thakrie to the mushroom growers from beginning and during the various phases of growth of crop till date.

The PRIs appreciated the working of the Officers for this tremendous success. On an average first flush/ produce of 52 kg of button type mushroom was harvested by the mushroom growers of the area and were sold to buyers on retail price of Rs 200 per kg.( KINS)
